Whiskey Steak

by David Rosenlund
(Smugglers Notch Vermont )

1 teaspoon. sugar
1/4 cup bourbon
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon fresh Ginger, peeled and sliced

Mix all ingredients together, place in ziplock bag and marinate steak 4 hours or over night. Prepare grill for a hot fire. Grill steak to desired doneness. This recipe is good with any cut of beef you like..

I don't recall where I got this from. But it's been a favorite for over 20yrs now. Even my Wife's Grandmother loved it(she usually only ate hot dogs) I typically use Makers Mark. But use whatever you like. The alcohol will cook off, if that is a concern. I have not tried it with the alcohol free whiskey.

I did not create this and would happily give proper credit if I could remember where I got it.

I have started a feud in my family. I've always been told im Swedish and Irish. A recent DNA test put me 51% German. So you can see dilemma. Either way, I love German food and was in heaven the 2 weeks I spent in Germany with the Army, US Artillery and the German 5th Panzer.
