Traditional "Grey" Dumplings

by Lore Grant
(Beaverton, ON Canada)

My MOTHER used to use equal measurements of raw shredded potatoes and cooked mashed potatoes
mix it up with an egg and flour and salt and drop them into salted boiling water
when they float let simmer for 10 more minutes and smother with gravy!!! Yummy!

Note: you can cut up any remaining dumplings and fry in butter and salt and pepper, they are equally as tasty.
