Oma's trays

by Sandi
(Kitchener ON)

My Oma and Opa did all the traditions above, plus the special trays.
They were paper trays decorated in Christmas themes and were handed out on Christmas eve.
Adults got theirs full of pistachios, marzipan, chocolates, candies, brandy filled chocolates.
Kids got similar, but more chocolate coins, Haribo gummi bears, nuts and there would be money.

I can hear the German radio station in the background, and sitting by the tree (sometimes with candles ) and just enjoy the moment.

Vielen Danke Oma Opa. Xo
