Deliciously German Vegetarian & Vegan Cookbook: 31 Traditional Meatless Recipes

Oma Gerhild

by: Gerhild Fulson  / Oma Gerhild shares German recipes rooted in family tradition.

Over the years I’ve learned delicous food isn’t just what’s on the plate, it’s who’s at the table. In our family, that means meat lovers, vegetarians, and “often dairy-free” eaters.

So when my daughter-in-law Sylvie started making vegan versions of my traditional German recipes, using homemade seitan and smart swaps instead of store-bought substitutes, I didn’t think it could taste authentic. Then we tried it. One bite in, we were sold: flavorful and completely Oma- and Opa-approved.

That’s why we created Deliciously German Vegetarian & Vegan Recipes: a cookbook with 31 traditional German dishes made vegetarian, with vegan options for most, so everyone can enjoy the same delicious meal.

  • 31 traditional German recipes (cooking + baking), adapted to vegetarian, most with vegan options
  • Great for mixed tables: meat-eaters, vegetarians, plant-based, and “often dairy-free” eaters
  • Made with locally available ingredients (outside Germany), with practical substitutions when needed
  • Full-color photo for every recipe so you know what you're aiming for
  • Choose the format that fits your kitchen: ebook, premium paperback, or spiral-bound that stays open while you cook

Deliciously German Vegetarian & Vegan Recipes is available in our Shop:

The paperback version, using standard paper and printing, is also available through Amazon, which makes it a convenient option for international customers or those who prefer to order through Amazon.

German comfort food has always been my love language. It’s how I feed people, welcome them in, and keep our traditions alive.

When Sylvie began remaking my classics with homemade seitan and simple swaps, I was sure something would get lost. But it didn’t. The flavors were still honest, still familiar, still the kind of food that makes everyone quiet for a second after the first bite.

That’s why we put these recipes into Deliciously German Vegetarian & Vegan Recipes.

If you want German dishes that feel like home, with options that work for vegetarians, vegans, and dairy-free eaters too, this book is for you.

Come cook with us.
