"Iabutta"

by Kris

I am looking for a recipe that sounds like "iabutta" that my Grandma used to make. It was served over toast maybe as a spread or sauce.

Eierbutter
by: Gerhild

Phonetically, it sounds like you are looking for a recipe called "Eierbutter" which translates as "Egg butter".

I had never previously heard of this, however, checking my sources, I've come across several recipes that are similar, only different by the types of spices used.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature

  • 2 hard boiled eggs
  •
pepper, ginger, paprika (optional or any combination)

  • chives, parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  • Peel the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites.
  • Cream the butter and the yolks together.
  • Finely chop the egg whites and add to butter mixture. Mix and season with whichever seasonings you prefer.
  • Use the finely chopped chives or parsley to garnish if desired.

Hope this is what you are looking for. Enjoy it!
